in 12 months as a way of raising $100,000 which we will then donate to Beyondblue. We are taking on this challenge as a way of promoting the benefits that physical exercise and an active lifestyle can have on mental wellbeing. In doing so, we also aim to compliment the work done by an established charity such as Beyondblue via a “bottom-up” approach.
“Given our emphasis on running, and our intention to facilitate a gradual shift in the social perception of mental health issues, our motto for raising the target amount is, “One step at a time”. By December 2018 we want to have achieved the following: – Raise $100k for Beyond Blue – Run 12 half marathons in 12 months – Over 250 people participating in over 20 events – Complete 5,000 km’s from all participants across all our events and Run Club’s But the most important achievement is make a positive change to how we talk about and discuss mental health in Australia.
