2018 International Women’s Day Assembly

Students were privileged today at our International Women’s Day Assembly to hear from past student Elsie Blay. Elsie attended Santa Maria College, graduating in 2006. She studied nursing at Notre Dame. After her nursing training, she nursed in Uganda and Timor. She started a not-for-profit organisation in East Timor, before returning to Western Australia to complete a Masters in Public Health. Elsie is mum to 2-year-old twins and lectures at Murdoch.

Elsie shared some of her story with the girls and things she has learnt since leaving Santa Maria College.

The girls were also treated to a performance by another past student Helen Shanahan (2005). Helen was Music Captain in her final year at the College and is one of our current music tutors.
