2019 IGSSA Swimming Carnival

Friday night was the Year 12s ‘last ever’ IGSSA swimming carnival, a night filled with many highs. It was a great way to pass the baton onto the Year 7s who competed in their first carnival.

The team had been preparing since Term 4 last year, and all our hard work paid off on the night. Santa finished fourth overall, which was an amazing achievement.

We had our team breakfast on Thursday morning which got all of the girls excited. Last-minute tips and preparations were made, and of course, we perfected our cheers.

The night was a huge success, everyone swam really well, and sang a great rendition of Soli Deo Gloria. An exciting part of the night was watching Georgia Mack (Year 10) narrowly miss the record by 0.01 of a second in the 50m breaststroke.

A big thank you to the Physical Education Staff who helped throughout the season and on the night. Also, we would love to thank our amazing alumni coaches: Olivia Walton (2018), Jordan Dowie (2016), Abbey Henderson (2018), Monique Shearwood (2017), Brooke Pensini (2017) and head coach Chris Tierney, who were at training every morning getting us prepared.
