2026 Interhouse Running Festival
It was a hot and humid day, but Santa Maria girls faced it head on at this year’s Interhouse Running Festival. On Friday morning, 22 March the girls threw themselves into every race with determination and plenty of house pride.
While the conditions were challenging, we are proud of the girls who stepped up, gave their best and made the carnival such a strong display of resilience.Â
Participation Matters
Across the carnival, girls joined into every race with real intent. Some chased points for their House. Some pushed for their personal best. All of them helped create a day full of encouragement and strong competition.
A special shoutout to Head Girl Chloe of Year 12 Dillon, who placed first in the Year 12s on her birthday! It was an exciting moment at her last ever Santa Maria running festival.
House Results
Congratulations to all Houses on a hard fought carnival. Final placings were:
- O’Reilly
- Corbett
- De la Hoyle and Dillon
- Frayne
- Byrne
- O’Donnell
- Kelly
A big congratulations to O’Reilly for taking out the top spot, and well done to every student who contributed points and spirit to their House across the day.
Looking Ahead
The interhouse carnival was a strong ending to term 1 and is building enthuisaism fo the next events coming up. That energy is already carrying into the PE department, where both the JIGSSA and IGSSA teams are training with purpose as they prepare for the season.
There is also growing anticipation for the new combined IGSSA and JIGSSA Cross Country in Term 2!
Thank you!
A big thank you to our Health & Physical Education team for organising the day, and thank you to the parents and family members who took the time to support their daughter on the day!
