A Celebration of Music

Over 230 Music students gathered in the McDonald Building for the annual Showcase performance on Friday night.

Twenty different items from choirs and ensembles performed a range of music styles from classic film music to contemporary songs. The choirs were accompanied by a professional rhythm section.

The highlight of this evening is always the celebration and recognition of the contribution of our Year 12 musicians. The girls were presented with parting gifts before performing their own specially prepared item to close the evening.

A great deal of preparation goes into ensuring this concert went off smoothly. A special thank you to all staff and students involved.

It was a special evening and a wonderful opportunity to perform in front of an appreciative audience of family and friends.

Below, Lucy Dal Molin, 2022 Music Captain, tells us about her experience over the past 12 months.

“Being Music Captain has been an incredibly enriching experience for me. I’ve been able to get to know so many talented musicians and had the opportunity to learn skills that I never would have been able to learn otherwise, such as arranging the Showcase Medley and conducting. Kaleidoscope was definitely a highlight of the year for me. Being able to collaborate and grow closer with my peers has been such a rewarding experience. I’m so grateful for all the support that has allowed me to get through challenging and stressful times and will always appreciate my time as Music Captain as a special and significant time in my life. “
