A Musical Farewell to Remember – Music Showcase 2025

That magic was alive and well on Friday 12 September as our annual Music Showcase filled the McDonald Building one last time.

More than 200 students took to the stage, and over 400 family members, friends and staff filled the seats. It was a night of music, memories and community – and it was truly unforgettable.

So Many Talented Performers

The evening featured a spectacular mix of choirs, chorales and instrumental ensembles. From polished senior performances to the energy of our younger musicians, every student brought their best.

Highlights included:

  • Concert Band
  • McAuley Concert Band
  • String Orchestra
  • McMahon String Ensemble
  • Swing Band
  • Percussion Ensemble
  • Flute Choir
  • Senior Guitar Ensemble
  • AcaMarias
  • Years 7 and 8 Choirs
  • Years 9 & 10 Chorale
  • Years 11 & 12 Chorale

Each group had their moment to shine, and the audience was right there with them – clapping, cheering and soaking it all in.

A Special Send-Off for Our Year 12s

It would not be a Music Showcase without acknowledging the contributions of our Year 12 Music students. For their final performance, they treated us to a medley arranged and conducted by Year 12 Music Captain Tess. It was a heartfelt finale that left more than a few teary eyes in the room.

Tess also kept the night flowing as our compere – a true leader and a brilliant example of the confidence our arts programs build.

A Bittersweet Goodbye

This showcase also marked a special moment in our College history – our final performance in the McDonald Building. For decades, this space has echoed with rehearsals, laughter and standing ovations.

While we will miss it, we are also incredibly excited about what is coming next. In 2026, the Music Showcase will take its place in the brand-new Cultural Centre, giving our students even more opportunities to perform and shine.

Wrapping Up

The Music Showcase is about teamwork, confidence, resilience and joy. To all the students who performed, conducted, accompanied or supported the night – we are so proud of you. And to our Year 12s, thank you for the music and the memories.
