Elle Pound (McLaren 2005) spoke to a group of Year 9 students about being brave, through teamwork and perseverance during our Life Lessons with a Lunchbox series.

Elle has taken risks since leaving Santa Maria and learnt a lot about herself through varied experiences.  A poignant take away from her session was, “Sometimes being brave is speaking up when no one else does.’

The girls were encouraged to try new things and be open to opportunities, especially when things don’t go to plan. Often this unexpected experience will unlock a pathway to action, new skills and expose an area to create change.

“I really enjoyed being able to hear about the life of an Old Girl and I learnt that bravery can be about persevering through a difficult time.’

Niamh Smithies
