An Experience of Unconditional Love

Year 9 Religious Education classes have been studying a variety of emotions and how to accept and express them in positive ways:

“Together we looked at the ways Jesus demonstrated charity and showed love, especially through the sacraments and practices He introduced. We learnt that Jesus displayed love by healing the relationship between God and his people, which can still be seen throughout the Church today in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. As well as learning about the Sacrament, we were given the opportunity to receive the Sacrament with six visiting priests from local parishes.

“With this opportunity to gain more knowledge of the sacrament and experience it, we were asked to take up the challenge to create digital resources about the Sacrament for Year 3 students and teachers at St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School in Westminster.  The Year 3 teacher has been asked to review our digital resources. We can’t wait to receive our feedback.” Tessa Pickett

“It was a great experience to take part in the Sacrament of Reconciliation as we have been studying the sacrament in Year 9 Religious Education classes. It was a really rewarding experience to be able to have this experience in our school Chapel with a variety of priests who gave up their time to kindly provide blessings and offer the sacrament. I’m very grateful that our Religious Education teachers organised this for us.” Natalia Neates

“I found that participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation was great, as I hadn’t been in a while since COVID has changed what we do in our parishes –it made me feel better.” Lily Richardson

“A beautiful experience.  I am so grateful it was offered by the College. Myra Lee

“I had forgotten the process for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, so I was a bit nervous about what to do. I used the card provided and went up to the Priest. It went surprisingly well; he was reassuring and kind. I had also forgotten what it felt like after Reconciliation – renewed and peaceful. A great experience.” Bella Bryan

“I haven’t been to confession since I was in Year 3 and I was a bit nervous about what to say. The priest was very comforting and friendly and made me feel a lot less uneasy. I enjoyed it and it was a nice experience to share with my class.” Fran Neicun

“I met with Father CJ and asked for a blessing. He shared with me that God wants us to treat others how we want to be treated. I am very grateful for the experience and very much enjoyed it.” Paige Lobwein
