Announcing the 2026 Student Leadership Council
Today, we proudly announced the students who will lead our College community in 2026. Selected from our Year 11 cohort following a thoughtful process of nomination and interview, these students have shown they are ready to serve, listen and lead with integrity.
Leadership at Santa Maria College is grounded in our Mercy values of compassion and a commitment to excellence. Our new Council will champion student voice, drive initiatives that strengthen wellbeing and community spirit, and model what it means to serve others with humility and purpose.
Handover will begin in Term 4, as the Class of 2025 nears graduation. Working alongside our current leaders, the Council will prepare for a smooth start to 2026 and continue the strong traditions of service and stewardship that define our College.
We congratulate our 2026 Student Leadership Council and look forward to the energy and ideas they’ll bring to the year ahead.

While today we celebrate the students who have been entrusted with formal leadership roles, it is important to remember that not all leaders wear badges. Every student has the opportunity to lead, whether through kindness, initiative, teamwork, or by standing up for what is right.
To those who were not successful this time, we encourage you to continue developing your strengths and sharing your gifts with our community. Leadership takes many forms, and the College thrives when each girl contributes in her own unique way.
