Art Students Recognised
Year 12 student, Ava Gamblin has been accepted into the 25under25 Art Award and exhibition, run by the City of Fremantle. The exhibition opens on Friday 14 July from 6.00 pm in the Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery in Fremantle. The exhibition runs until Sunday 23 July. The winners will be announced at the opening. This is the first time a Santa Maria College student has been accepted into this exhibition.
Santa Maria students received a number of awards last night at the Atwell Youth Art Awards. Kimberley Lin (Year 12) was joint Year 12 overall winner. Sophie Trebley (Year 11), Naomi Jose (Year 11), Christina Jardim (Year 11) and Genevieve Brown (Year 9) received Highly Commended awards. Kelly McKewown (Year 9) was the overall Year 9 winner and Mikayla Hogg (Year 12) was the overall winner of the Wearable Art/Textiles Award. Santa Maria College also took out the winner of the School Art Department Award. Congratulations to the girls and our amazing Art Department!
