Baby Chicks Arrive in Science

Year 10 Biology students are studying animal adaptations and also the ethical issues of using animals in the laboratory.

At the start of this week, the College received its incubator and some eggs. Four chicks have hatched already. The chicks are getting lots of interest from the students.

Ailsa Harris, Head of Science said, “It’s an excellent opportunity to develop students’ scientific inquiry skills. It’s amazing to see how the chicks interact and are able to protect themselves, even at this early stage.”
