Be like Greta – Write a Letter!
Inspired by the activism of Greta Thunberg, Year 7 HASS students were asked the questions, “What are you passionate about?” and “If you could change one thing about your world, what would it be?”. It turns out they are concerned and active citizens, with big ideas!
After engaging in some research, the students wrote a letter to the appropriate government representative asking for change. The girls are waiting eagerly for their replies.
Elizabeth Harris said, “I wrote to Hon Klara Andric about biodiversity loss. It is a pressing issue and one that needs immediate action. I hope she responds to my letter!”
Ruby Pass is concerned about homelessness. “Homelessness is a serious issue in Perth”, she said. “I want to help and raise awareness so I wrote to the Mayor and offered some suggestions about how things could be improved.”
What A Term! So Many Opportunities – Jennifer Oaten
As I look back on the past nine weeks, I am so grateful for who we are as a community and what we have achieved. Through the dedication of our staff and the enthusiasm of our students, we have established new connections, immersed ourselves in opportunities and worked through challenges.
