What have you been doing at home that has pushed you out of your comfort zone requiring you to be brave and courageous? Send us photos of yourself and your family members being brave and courageous.

TERM 2: THEMED DINNERS
Please see below the dates of the Santa Maria Boarding Community Themed Dinner for Term 2.

Please share your family photos at these dinners on the Boarding Parents’ Facebook page and in the boarder photo folder (which all boarders have access to. These photos could be used on the Santa Maria Facebook page or the Santa Maria Boarders’ Instagram page).

The first dinner is today, Wednesday 29 April. It is International Dance day. Dress like a dancer for dinner and then bust some moves together after dinner. 

The Santa Maria Boarding Community invites all members of this great community to each of the following:

Where: Boarders’ Dining room or at Home
Time: 5.30 pm or when your family comes together for dinner
Seated: In your tribes or with those you are living with

When: Wednesday 29 April

What to wear: Wear as much floral clothing as possible and create bunches of flowers (real or handmade) for those at dinner

DINNER #3

When: Thursday 28 May
Theme: Hamburger Day

What to wear: Dress like you are going to a hamburger place for dinner and share pictures of the hamburgers your family are having for dinner tonight

BEING MINDFUL

A mindfulness app for the whole family is SMILING MIND.
Mindfulness can reduce worries, anxiety and distress, increase energy levels, create a sense of calm, help to relax and regulate emotions, enhance awareness and creativity, improve concentration and increase productivity, develop a sense of empathy and connectedness and help you to enjoy a better night’s sleep. LEARNING OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM
This link has many great resources for learning opportunities outside of the classroom. We would love to hear which resources were really engaging and fun.

As I look back on the past nine weeks, I am so grateful for who we are as a community and what we have achieved. Through the dedication of our staff and the enthusiasm of our students, we have established new connections, immersed ourselves in opportunities and worked through challenges.
