Benvenuta, Aurora!
We are delighted to welcome our new Italian Language Assistant, Aurora Caneva, to Santa Maria College. Aurora joins us from the beautiful Lake Como region in Italy, where she is a student at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. She is here as part of the Italian Assistant Program. This exciting initiative allows university students to enhance their English skills while sharing their culture and language with students abroad.
During her ten weeks with us, Aurora will be staying with the Adair family, whose younger daughter, Georgia, is in Year 10 and studying Italian. This homestay provides a wonderful opportunity for language and cultural exchange beyond the classroom.
Aurora will work closely with our Italian teachers, Michele Monti, Luisa Maio and Grace Walker, assisting with resources, cultural insights, and conversational practice. She will help students strengthen their listening and speaking skills, share her life experiences as a young Italian, and support our ATAR students as they prepare for their exams.
We are thrilled to have Aurora bring her passion for language, her cultural knowledge, and her warm personality to our community. Benvenuta, Aurora, we are excited for the term ahead!
