Biology Students Working With Newly Hatched Chicks
- March 12, 2020

At Santa Maria, our Year 10 Biology students are provided with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of animal ethics, science inquiry, data collection, data analysis, and experimental evaluation by working with newly hatched chickens.

The girls were very excited to meet their newly hatched chicks this week, and thoroughly enjoyed holding them. The chickens were very calm and seemed to enjoy all the attention, especially when they received a nice scratch on the head. The Year 10 Biology students will continue to monitor the chickens over the next two weeks, further developing their skills and investigating chicken growth patterns.
