Charlotte’s Passion For Performing

Charlotte’s Passion For Performing

She might be only 10 years old, but Year 5 student Charlotte O’Hara has an impressive list of credits behind her already.

Chars, as she’s called by her mum, has been singing and dancing since she was three. She is an active member of the Australian Girls’ Specialist Choir. Charlotte has a passion for drama and performance and is currently performing in The Boy from Oz at Crown.

A few other musicals Charlotte has been cast in include starring as Molly in Annie the Musical in 2020, Gilbert and Sullivan’s Yeoman of the Guard Operetta Dolphin Theatre,  Wizard of Oz at Regal Theatre,  Christmas Spectacular at Crown Theatre Christmas 2020,  Xmas Nativity Forrest Chase as well as Fringe World musicals Maisie and Oakley & Olivia.

During Covid lockdown last year, Charlotte also participated in an Australian and international performing arts competition which was conducted online. It was the Annual Enter the Stage Awards presented by HAMA Productions. There were over 90 entries from Australian and international performing arts schools. She took out first place in the Musical Theatre category for 10 years and under, not bad for her first solo competition.

Last year, Charlotte was selected from 6500 students in Australia and shortlisted in the final 20 in Perth to participate in a special Qantas promotion, of ‘I Still Call Australia Home’. She just missed out, but was thrilled to participate.

We can’t wait to see what Charlotte achieves in the future. She’s very excited about starting at Santa Maria this year and can’t wait to participate in our music programs.
