Cheerleaders Have a Big Weekend

On Sunday 30 July, our top two competitive cheerleading teams, the SMC Comets (Level 2) and SMC Gravity (Level 1) competed at the Cheer Unlimited Australia, Rock N Cheer Championships in Joondalup Arena. Both teams commenced training last year, committing to 1.5 – 2 hours training weekly, building on stunting, jumping, tumbling and dance skills.
The girls have worked extremely hard, with the guidance of their coaches who have created amazing routines. We were very proud of both teams, who placed first in their divisions. To top off a successful competition day, our Level 1 team won the Overall Varsity Champions for being the highest scoring school team. The girls enjoyed the day and it was very successful for both teams.
