Ciao! Salut! Languages Day 2022
Once a year, we have the opportunity to raise awareness of the benefits of learning a language, highlight the linguistic diversity in our community and celebrate the work of our students and teachers, all whilst having fun!
This year our focus was on a variety of cultural activities. We had a ‘Palio’ pony race, a silent disco with French, Italian and international music, and the unveiling of our ‘Letters to Juliet’ window display in the Mercy building.
We even had food tastings on offer, which included a selection of French and Italian cheeses and some bread with balsamic vinegar and EVOO. Students also lined up to have a photo or two in our pizza van, which proved to be a popular choice!
We also had some games for students to participate in including ‘pin the tail’ on the French and/or Italian region, ‘complete a puzzle in a minute’, along with a ‘minute to win it’ style game with French and Italian categories.
Our staff and senior students had the opportunity to dress up in costumes and they certainly did not disappoint.
All the activities were a huge hit. We would like to thank students who helped organise and run the various activities. Here’s to next year’s celebration!
Grazie! Merci! Arrivederci! Au revoir!
