Class of ’60 Celebrates 60
Janice Lillis (Knipe, 1960) hosted a morning tea for the Class of 1960 recently and had a wonderful turnout. People travelled from as far as Bunbury and Barbara Pozzi (Sutton, 1960) phoned in from Geraldton.
The ladies had a wonderful morning reminiscing about their days at Santa Maria College and looking through the old photos, articles, cards, and other memorabilia that Janice had kept from her time at the College.
Janette Murray (Monkhouse, 1960) made a beautiful decorative plate with the Santa Maria College Old Girls’ Association crest that had pride of place at the morning tea.
Janice Lillis attended the College as a boarder from Year 9 to Leaving (Year 12 equivalent) and then went on to Claremont Teaching College. Janice has many fond memories of the boarding school and school. She remembers trips to the Perth Zoo, going to the city on the bus to buy fabric, and Sundays on the Figure 8 with visitors from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm. She was lucky enough to have a cubicle that had a beautiful view of the river in Year 9 and her final year.
Today, Janice has three daughters. They all attended the College.
