College Hands Over Winter Appeal Donations
Our 2020 Winter Appeal concluded today with a special Liturgy in the Chapel. Unlike previous years, where the whole College community comes together, only a small number of staff and students were in attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions.
We were delighted to celebrate with representatives from our three agencies, Michael Piu from St Pat’s, Rosemary Stanley from Shopfront and Colin Krause from St Vincent de Paul.
The College was able to hand over our generous donations, which included a variety of toiletries, food, clothing and blankets. It was lovely to hear from the representatives about how our donations bring some relief during these difficult times.
In the spirit of the Winter Appeal, the Gospel reading was the story of the Good Samaritan. It serves as a reminder of our call as Catholics and students of Mercy to fulfil our responsibility to assist those in need.
We take this opportunity to thank staff and students for their compassion and generosity during this year’s Winter Appeal.
What A Term! So Many Opportunities – Jennifer Oaten
As I look back on the past nine weeks, I am so grateful for who we are as a community and what we have achieved. Through the dedication of our staff and the enthusiasm of our students, we have established new connections, immersed ourselves in opportunities and worked through challenges.
