Congratulations to Jamie-Lee Lawton (Year 8) on her selection to the Calisthenics Association of Western Australia Frangipani Team. Jamie-Lee will compete with the team in Darwin in September. We asked Jamie-Lee about her sport.
“I belong to the Imperial Calisthenics College. I started doing calisthenics with some friends from primary school and have been doing calisthenics for almost two years now. For selection, we had to try out in fount of the coach and the assistant coach helped us with the routines. What I love about the sport is meeting new people and having fun with all my friends. My Imperial coach is an Ex-Santa Girl (OGA)
Jamie-Lee is one of 11 girls in the Junior Team representing Western Australia. This is at an elite level of this artistic sport. Jamie-Lee has committed to many hours of training, currently training for approximately 4 – 6 hour per week in the lead up to the Frangipani Challenge Competition.
