Congratulations to our Next Generation of Leaders
It is with great pleasure that we announce our 2023 Student Representative Council. These girls, along with the Year 12 Student Leadership Council, announced earlier this term, will provide guidance and a voice for the student body in 2023.
Our leaders were officially commissioned today in a ceremony in front of their families.
We congratulate the girls and wish them well in their new roles. The girls will take over these positions in Term 4.

As part of the commissioning ceremony, Principal, Jennifer Oaten, gave some words of encouragement to the girls. Here is some of what she had to say:Â
As Principal, I am always learning and developing as a leader. No one is born with all the essential leadership qualities, so I hope, as you begin this exciting journey our leaders will embrace all opportunities, to learn and grow to become the best leader you can be.
I hope all students in the Year 12 class of 2023 will support our leaders, will offer your talents and contribute in any way you can to the culture of our College. You do not need a badge to be a leader.
Leadership is about teams working together to achieve extraordinary things. Alone we can achieve so little, together we can achieve so much.
Parents and students were then invited to a lovely afternoon tea out on the Terrace. This provided an opportunity for the girls to celebrate their achievement with peers and loved ones.Â
We wish these girls the best of luck in their positions. We are confident that they will serve our community, be wonderful role models and make Santa Maria an even better place.
What A Term! So Many Opportunities – Jennifer Oaten
As I look back on the past nine weeks, I am so grateful for who we are as a community and what we have achieved. Through the dedication of our staff and the enthusiasm of our students, we have established new connections, immersed ourselves in opportunities and worked through challenges.
From the President: April 2024
