Dynamic Displays for ANZAC Day
ANZAC Day is a time when all Australians come together to honour and remember the ANZACs who fought and died for our country.
Upon their return today, students were greeted by a series of stunning World War I displays in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) area, in remembrance of our ANZAC soldiers.
If you have ever been to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, you will recall the series of stunning stained-glass windows in the Hall of Memory surrounding the tomb of the unknown soldier. Each of these windows represents a quality or value that embodies the ANZAC legend.
As part of the Year 9 HASS curriculum in Term 1, each class was allocated a characteristic to research, requiring them to collaborate to portray this value in a creative and informative display.
The result is a series of stunning pieces which capture the audacity, comradeship, resourcefulness, devotion, ancestry, curiosity, candour and endurance of our World War I servicemen and women.
