Endorsed Programs Expand Student Learning

From work placements to Mock Trials and beyond, some of the most powerful learning happens when students step beyond the traditional classroom. Through hands-on experiences, community involvement and real-world challenges, they build skills that prepare them for life, not just exams.

That’s exactly what Endorsed Programs are designed to do. In 2024, 611 Santa Maria College students in Years 10 to 12 successfully completed one or more of these accredited programs, an incredible achievement that speaks to their initiative, curiosity and commitment to personal growth.

What Is an Endorsed Program?

An Endorsed Program is a significant learning experience recognised by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA). These programs are designed to develop practical and personal skills and are often delivered alongside or beyond the regular curriculum.

When completed, they are recorded on a student’s Western Australian Statement of Student Achievement (WASSA) and can contribute towards WACE requirements, including the C grade and breadth-and-depth criteria.

Helping Girls Thrive Beyond the Classroom

These programs give students the chance to try something new, take the lead, and discover their strengths in different environments. Whether it’s performing on stage, volunteering in the community or preparing for university, every pathway is purposeful.

They also foster a culture of excellence, encouraging girls to pursue personal bests in a way that feels meaningful and connected to the world around them.

Endorsed Programs are just one way Santa Maria supports students to connect learning to life. They remind us that education is not just about outcomes, it is also about opportunity.

We are proud to support every girl in shaping her own journey.
