Fashion Showcase

It’s no secret that our Old Girls are a talented bunch. We have ladies who are at the top of their game in a myriad of fields, including fashion. So we thought what better way than to show off these talents, than with a Fashion Showcase! The College’s Community Room was transformed into a fashion catwalk, where our guests were able to watch the show while enjoying a delicious high tea.

Eight of our Old Girls, who have turned their hand to designing a range of items, were kind enough to put their works on display. Some of the pieces we saw coming down the runway included clothing, swimwear, millinery, jewellery and other accessories. We were also very excited that this event gave the current Year 12 Materials Design and Textiles class the opportunity to exhibit their garments. In just a few months, these gorgeous girls will also join the ranks, as members of the OGA.

I would like to thank all of our designers who contributed their pieces and time, to make this event possible. We also had a number of past students and parents assist on the day in areas other than design. Kyra Harvey lent her musical talents and we had the wonderful Jo Lively from Jooj and Susie Jerovich from Browzing looking after our models’ hair and makeup. Stylist Rebecca Adams was also on hand to finesse each of our models’ looks before they hit the catwalk.

Thank you also to the staff and students at the College, in particular, Jacqui Daniels, Old Girls’ Association Coordinator, for making the day as spectacular as it was, as well as the OGA Committee, who put in a great deal of work before and after the event.

I’m sure all those who attended last weekend’s event would agree that all of those who exhibited are incredibly talented, and will go far in their chosen fields.

Gemma Varone, Old Girls’ Association President
