Foundation Vision
At Santa Maria College, we are proud to carry on the legacy of our foundress, Principal Catherine McAuley. She was a trailblazer in advocating for women’s education and empowerment and believed that education was key to success. Catherine also began the Mercy tradition of giving when she used her inheritance to purchase the House on Baggot Street, Dublin, in 1827 to provide an education for poor women and children.Â
At Santa Maria College, we continue this tradition of giving by prioritising investment in contemporary learning opportunities for all students.
To ensure the sustainability of our mission, we have launched the Santa Maria College Foundation. The Foundation will allow us to invest in learning spaces, technology, and resources and offer financial aid for those facing hardship through scholarships and bursaries. We believe that philanthropic support is essential to achieving our mission, and any contribution to this foundation will make a difference in the lives of passionate young women who strive to make a positive change in the world.
Our Santa Maria community is already philanthropic, donating funds, time, and goods to the local and overseas community for years. We are excited to extend this to develop our own Foundation, where the College can be supported by our community. With your help, we can make a real difference in the lives of our students and ensure that our transformative education continues for future generations. Join us on this journey to create a better future for all.
