From Passion to Impact – An Evening with Diana Rigg
What happens when a passionate educator decides that “good enough” isn’t good enough for Australian classrooms?
She rolls up her sleeves, earns four degrees, challenges outdated systems, and changes the future of literacy for thousands of children.
We are thrilled to welcome Diana Rigg (Class of 1988) as our guest speaker for the second Sisterhood Networking Series event of the year.
Diana is not just a teacher, speech pathologist, and parent; she’s an influential innovator in education. Merging postgraduate education and speech pathology qualifications with a deep understanding of the education system, she has spent over two decades transforming the way literacy is taught in schools.
Her journey began in 1992, when she stepped into the classroom and quickly realised her training hadn’t prepared her to support students with complex learning needs. That gap drove her to pursue a Master’s in Education and then a Master’s in Speech Pathology, ultimately founding PLD (Promoting Literacy Development), a clinic-turned-national consultancy that now empowers educators with practical, evidence-based tools for students aged 3 – 11.
Today, Diana’s work is embedded in classrooms across the country, and her leadership in consultancy and publishing continues to improve learning outcomes for thousands of Australian children.

Coming Home – Alumni Celebrate the Cultural Centre
