MOVING HOUSES FOR THE RENOVATIONS

There have been many meetings to prepare for the move from Ursula House to Sylvester, Bertrand, and Catherine Houses to enable the Ursula House renovations to begin before the end of the term.
The move to Sylvester (with Years 7, 8 & 9s) and to Bertrand (Years 10 & 11s) will take place on the weekend of 6 – 8 November. Those moving to Catherine House (Year 11s) will not be moving until the last Year 12 has completed her ATAR, which is 18 November. This is an exciting time for all, and for some there will be some hesitation and wondering about how it will be to be in a different house, with boarders they may not know so well and new boarding supervisors with different styles of leading their houses.

Those moving into Bertrand House will need to be mindful that the Year 10s are preparing for exams and the Year 11s in Bertrand and Catherine Houses have started their Year 12 courses and will be dedicated to their studies. We expect that the boarders moving to these houses will be respectful of the needs of the Years 10 & 11 students, and will see these senior boarders as great role models of dedication to their studies.

COVID GUIDELINES

As Western Australians, we are fortunate to have been relatively safe during the ongoing COVID pandemic.

As a residential institution, we are obliged to adhere to the AHPPC guidelines. We are still adhering to the latest AHPPC guidelines for residential institutions which were published on 17 June along with the current WA Government Roadmap – Phase 4 restrictions.

This means we are still promoting good hygiene, regular sanitising, staggered meals, parents to enter houses and meet daughters in the house foyer, washing of clothes immediately on return from sports games/training followed by showering and maximum capacity restrictions for all spaces within boarding (as stated on posters in all venues).

When the AHPPC and the WA Government update guidelines for boarding schools, we will implement these new guidelines immediately.

Our boarders have adapted well to these guidelines. They have been understanding and patient throughout the pandemic. I also thank parents for your support of all we have been doing in Boarding to ensure your daughter’s good health during these unprecedented times COVID-19 has presented us with.
