From The Head Of Boarding: Week 6, 2020
- March 10, 2020

International Women’s Day is an important celebration for all in our community. I love this quote from Michelle Obama often seen around International Women’s Day, which says “Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.”
Within our Boarding Community, we want to actively contribute to building strong women, that is our boarders, our boarding staff and our boarding families. We want females and males in our community to be strong in mind, body, spirit, voice, beliefs. In having and developing these strengths they will be great role models for others. We are working in a community to raise girls of strength, who will leave boarding at the end of Year 12 as independent, resilient and compassionate women, who will be able to use their strong and rational voice and Catholic and Mercy values to lead each other.

WAGIN WOOLARAMA
Wagin Woolarama was a wonderful event. Anne Fisher (Dean of Year 8), Amelia Ward, Paige Kirk and I had so much fun. We were able to talk to so many people, including old, current and prospective students and parents about our great Santa Maria Boarding Community. Thank you to all for coming to visit us at the Woolarama. Looking forward to catching up with more families at Mingenew and Dowerin later in the year.
