From The President

Welcome to another edition of the Santa Maria Old Girls’ Blog.

Firstly, I would like to welcome our newest OGA members to the fold – the Class of 2018! I was honoured to have been invited to speak at your Year 12 Valedictory last week, and to see first hand what wonderful women you are. I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

With only a handful of weeks left before the end of the year (and Christmas), I know this is a busy time for us all. We only have a few events left for the year, including our Golden Girls Luncheon, which I know so many are looking forward to.

We are also on the lookout for any Old Girls who might be interested in becoming part of our Mentoring Program for 2019. This will be the third year of this amazing initiative, which links a past student with a current student with similar interests and endeavours. You may have seen an email from our co-ordinator Jacqui Daniels, with details. If you would like to be involved, please get in touch.

If mentoring feels like too large a commitment, we are always in need of guest speakers to inspire our current students, especially those of you who pursued a non-ATAR pathway (which means non-TEE for those who are wondering!)

Thank you for a wonderful year so far.

Gemma Varone (2009), President
