From the President – April 2025

Gwen Wood (Berrigan, 1963), Mary Bairstow (Heavens, 1974) and Bella Robertson (2019)

Welcome to our April 2025 update. I hope you enjoy this snapshot of what’s been happening in our vibrant alumni community.

We held the biennial Old Girls’ Association General Meeting on 17 March, where the new leadership and committee members were elected. I am humbled and excited to continue in this role alongside a wonderful team. Congratulations also to Bella Robertson, who was appointed Vice President, and to Gwen Wood, who will continue her outstanding work as Treasurer.

We also welcomed Linda Humphreys (Stevenson, 1973), Tanya Ramakrishnan (1991), Micaela Haddrill (Grandison, 1999), Liz Allen (O’Neill, 1981), and Alison Auld (Chaffer, 1996), as committee members.

I’m looking forward to working alongside this passionate and committed group. If you’ve ever thought about joining the committee or are simply curious to learn more, we’d love to hear from you. You’re welcome to get in touch at any time by contacting our Foundation & Alumni Officer, Chelsea Weaver, at [email protected] for a friendly chat.

It was great catching up with many of you at the OGA Movie Night last Thursday. Thanks to Chelsea for helping spread the word. It was a great night. We screened Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (It was great to see Colin Firth make an appearance, however brief!), and we had fantastic raffle prizes as well.

As part of the evening, we supported the Zonta House Refuge Association, a not-for-profit organisation that provides support and accommodation services to women experiencing family and domestic violence. Guests were encouraged to bring along a toiletry item or a non-perishable food donation. Thank you to everyone who supported the cause.

Wishing you and your families a safe and happy Easter. May it be a time to connect, recharge and enjoy the simple things.
