From the President, August 2024

Welcome to the August edition of the OGA Blog!
A Heartfelt Thank You
I want to extend a huge thank you to all of our wonderful members who have been so generous with their time over the past few months. It is heartening to see so many of you returning to the College as guest speakers, a gesture that the current students absolutely love and appreciate. Your involvement and dedication mean so much to our community.
Celebrating Alumni Stories
Reading the recent alumni stories shared on the Old Girls’ Facebook page has been truly inspiring. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share their journeys since leaving school. These stories not only celebrate your achievements but also serve as a source of motivation and pride for all of us.
Upcoming Mercy Awards
Next week, the College will celebrate the recipients of the inaugural Mercy Awards. I am incredibly proud to see several alumni nominated for these prestigious awards. It is a testament to the significant contributions our past students make to the world, embodying the Santa Maria College Mercy values of Hospitality, Compassion, Justice, Service, and Excellence.
Gratitude to Our Supporters
A special thank you to everyone working hard behind the scenes to make these awards possible. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and your dedication helps us continue to honour and celebrate our community’s remarkable achievements.
Until next time.
