From the President – December 2025
Dear Alumni
Unbelievably, this is my final report for 2025 and also marks the conclusion of my first year as president. I reflect on a good year, during which I have greatly enjoyed the companionship of my fellow OGA Committee members and the Santa Maria staff who assist the OGA Committee to achieve our goals. This is truly a symbiotic relationship. Together, we work towards outcomes to strengthen the SMC alumni community. Most recently, this month, many of us enjoyed the annual Golden Girls’ lunch, which was well attended. The food was of high standard as always, the service was efficient, and the excellent, friendly support of the boarding students who welcomed us and accompanied us to the venue was much appreciated.
2026 will be marked by the completion of the Cultural Centre which will provide exciting location opportunities for future alumni activities and functions. We are all very fortunate to have this asset available to us.
I wish you all my warmest wishes for the Festive season and New Year 2026. I still remember as a student, the joy of the approaching long summer holidays. There was a particular feel in the air.
Warm regards
Mary Heavens President
