From the President: July 2023

Welcome to the July edition of the OGA Blog. Just like that, we’re halfway through 2023!

Movie Night

With the cold weather well and truly upon us, what better way to spend an evening than at the movies, catching up with friends? The annual OGA Movie Night is back!

We would love you to join us on Thursday 27 July for a screening of The New Boy, an Australian drama set in the 1940s, starring Cate Blanchett and Deborah Mailman. All friends and family are welcome.

You’ll find more information on the flyer. Be sure to purchase your tickets here.

Mercy Grant Update: The Periscope Crew

Earlier in the week, the OGA Committee had the pleasure of attending an event called Kaleidoscope, hosted by The Periscope Crew. You may remember them as winners of the 2021 Mercy Grant, under the guidance of alumni Catherine Kolmyjec (1986). The Mercy Grant was used to help create a short film, Two Different Lights, written and directed by Madison Heady, the recent winner of the West Australian of the Year Youth Award.  It was a wonderful evening, and I commend Catherine for her incredible work in making the world a more inclusive place.
