From the President – March 2025
Dear Alumni
Another month has passed, and hence here is my Interim President’s contribution for 1 March 2025.
In my message last month, I referenced the upcoming reunion, which was held on Saturday 15 February. It was a fabulous evening. I would like to thank Principal Jennifer Oaten and the College staff who dedicated their weekend to supporting the alumni reunion function. I do feel compelled to make a special mention of the quality of the catering. The potato-spun gluten-free prawns were a visual work of art and delicious, too. The food was plentiful and excellent. A big thank you to those in the kitchen behind the scenes who deserve their own accolade. I received several positive remarks from our guests as I was serving canapes.
Our next alumni occasion will be the Old Girls’ Association Committee Biennial General Meeting (BGM) at 6.30 pm on Monday 17 March, at the College. At the BGM, current committee members and any newcomers who have completed expressions of interest to take up positions for the next two years, will be considered and then nominations confirmed. You should have received communication from Chelsea Weaver, Foundation & Alumni Officer who welcomed expressions of interest. After the BGM has been held, the current positions of interim President and interim Vice President will be replaced by President and Vice President, which may or may not be held by the current interim position holders. Immediately following the BGM, we will hold a regular committee meeting.Â
The date and venue for the 2025 OGA Movie Night are locked in, and we can’t wait to see you there! Tickets are now available, so be sure to book yours. For all the details, click here.
I hope that those of you who have daughters or sons at school, wherever they may attend, have experienced a positive start to the 2025 school year.
Finally, a big welcome to the class of 1975, the new Golden Girls. You can now look forward to the annual Golden Girls lunch later in the year.
