From the President – March 2026
I hope that all members of our alumni community have enjoyed a smooth and settled start to 2026. For those who have daughters attending Santa Maria College I hope they have experienced a positive beginning to the school year.
We have just held our first Old Girls’ Association Committee meeting of 2026. We had a full agenda which included a review of the Reunion function held on Saturday 7 February. I am very pleased to report that attendance numbers were the highest we have seen since the introduction of the amalgamated year format for this event. While the temperature on the evening was warmer than ideal, it certainly did not deter attendance nor dampen the enthusiasm of those present. Many chose to remain for as long as possible, making the most of the opportunity to reconnect with former classmates. It was a very successful occasion and a wonderful reminder of the strength and spirit of our Old Girls’ community. I would particularly like to thank my fellow committee members who generously volunteer their time each year to support this event.
Next term will also see the opening of the College’s new Cultural Centre, an exciting and significant milestone in the history of Santa Maria. It will no doubt become a place where future generations of students create lasting memories, and one which many past students will be eager to see and experience.
I very much look forward to seeing the Cultural Centre at its official opening next term. Details will be shared with our alumni community, and I hope many of you will take the opportunity to experience this impressive new addition to the College.
This week, I am planning to book my ticket to attend the upcoming Sisterhood Networking Series event. More details appear elsewhere in this blog. I encourage others to book too, bearing in mind that numbers are limited due to the intimate nature of the setting.
I look forward to what 2026 will bring for the Old Girls’ Association and to continuing to strengthen the connections that bind us to one another and to Santa Maria College.

Calling Santa Maria Alumni Golfers for the 2026 CIGS Annual Foursomes Event
The CIGS Annual Foursomes Golf Event for Alumni is a golf day for alumni of participating independent girls’ schools in Western Australia. Santa Maria College alumni are invited to take part on Monday 21 September 2026 at Mt Lawley Golf Club. Players need to be alumni of a participating school and hold a current Golflink number. Register interest with Nina Howie by the end of July.
Join the OGA Committee – Expressions of Interest Now Open
Expressions of interest are now open for alumni who would like to join the Santa Maria College Old Girls’ Association Committee. The committee helps strengthen lifelong connections between past students through events and initiatives that build belonging, celebrate alumni achievements, and support the ongoing spirit of the Santa Maria community. Alumni from a range of backgrounds and graduation years are encouraged to apply.
