From the President – November 2025
Dear Alumni
The month in between reports seems to pass ever more quickly, with only one more report before the summer holidays. I wish the very best to all SMC students currently facing exams, and particularly to all our Year 12 students.
October has been a quieter month for the Old Girls’ Association Committee.
We have a very full agenda for our next OGA Committee meeting, scheduled for Monday 10 November, the last meeting of the year. Matters to be discussed include the 2026 SMC Reunion, which will be held soon after the start of the 2026 academic year, as well as the upcoming 2025 Golden Girls’ Luncheon, held on Saturday 8 November. I hope that as many people as possible will attend this annual event, particularly since it is on a Saturday.
I recently contributed to a review of our OGA Committee Guidelines, and the definitive version will be presented as another item at our November meeting. Vice President Bella Robertson will introduce several new ideas related to potential future activities. Thank you, Bella.
If any current Old Girls would like to join our OGA Committee in 2026, then please feel welcome to contact Chelsea Weaver, SMC Alumni and Foundation Officer at the College. I also warmly extend this invitation to our 2025 year 12 students, now on the cusp of becoming Old Girls themselves. Your skills, ideas, and knowledge would be valued assets to us.
Regards
Mary Heavens | OGA President
