Welcome to the October edition of the Old Girls’ Association Blog!
This month, we are excited to feature a number of our outstanding alumni, including two of our Mercy Award finalists: Diann Black (1982) and Libby Wilkes (Woodgate, 1984). Their remarkable contributions truly embody the values of the College.
We also catch up with Gabby Blyth (Chaffer, 1999), a proud alumni who has recently taken on the position of Head of Admissions at the College. Gabby’s deep connection to Santa Maria makes her a wonderful addition to the team.
Looking ahead, the Golden Girls’ Luncheon is fast approaching! This event is one of the highlights of the year, and we can’t wait to welcome back those who graduated 50 or more years ago.

Coming Home – Alumni Celebrate the Cultural Centre
Santa Maria College alumni gathered to celebrate the opening of the College’s new Cultural Centre, reconnecting with classmates and celebrating the role of the arts in the community. The evening featured performances by current students and a 42-member Alumni Choir, highlighting the lifelong connections and shared experiences that continue to bring Old Girls back to the College.

The August 2026 Old Girls’ Association President’s Report provides an update on upcoming meetings and alumni activities at Santa Maria College. President Mary Heavens outlines plans for the Pleiades Gathering, the inaugural Santa Maria College and Aquinas social event, and the Golden Girls’ lunch welcoming the Class of 1976.
