Empowering Our Year 10s To be Financially Independent
- December 3, 2021

Future10: Activate kicked off with a bang this week and finished a year-long program focussing on career counselling, subject choices, academic independence, and financial literacy.Â
Future10: Activate, part of the College’s Enhanced Learning Program, provided Year 10s with the opportunity to work with keynote speakers, guest presenters, in-house experts and workshop leaders.Â

Financial Literacy and Sustainable Living
The girls learned about budgets and saving, spending and planning, and were exposed to multiple stories of women in the workplace. Complimentary to this, we had a focus on sustainable living. The girls attended sessions run by Principal Jennifer Oaten and Director of Corporate Services, Tim Stewart. We exposed them to the College budget process and the decisions made to serve ourselves and our environment.Â

The Year 10s were inducted as Waste Warriors and provided valuable feedback to the College on building development plans and ideas.Â
Wellbeing SessionsÂ
The afternoon consisted of engaging in wellbeing sessions of Yoga, Meditation, African Drumming or ‘Yarn Bombing’ the trees in the Grotto with colour. We finished off the program with a quiet game of Santopoly!
