High-Fives and Finish Lines – Interhouse Running Festival

The path was long, the breeze was brisk, and the energy was absolutely buzzing.

Students laced up at Burke Drive foreshore for the 2025 Running Festival and what a way to end the week. Whether they were chasing a personal best or simply soaking up the sunshine with friends, our girls brought determination, laughter, and a whole lot of House pride.

All In, All Smiles

This wasn’t your typical ‘ready, set, go’ cross-country. The festival is all about mindset and movement. Some girls sprinted out of the gate with fierce focus, while others walked, jogged or even danced through the course, turning it into a social stroll with a side of song.

Along the way came high-fives, water breaks, and plenty of cheering. But nothing beat the sense of satisfaction at the finish line, and well-earned grins awaited.

Mercy Values on the Move

What stood out most wasn’t the speed; it was the support. Girls encouraged each other every step of the way, offering kind words, a running buddy, or a quick pep talk when needed.

This was Mercy in action: Excellence in effort, Hospitality in spirit, and a splash of Service as students lifted one another up. The grit and positivity on display spoke volumes about their resilience and confidence.

A big thank you to our Health & Physical Education team for organising the day, and to the parents and staff who lined the course with cheers and encouragement (we saw you jogging along, too!).

The festival was a feel-good triumph and a brilliant start to our sporting calendar.
