High Tea at Santa

One of our Year 10 Home Economics classes spent a wonderful morning baking high tea treats for students in another Home Economics class.

The girls had to choose which delicious treats they would like to contribute to the high tea, they needed to ensure they had the correct ingredients and to prepare enough food to cater for the other students.

Some of the delicious homemade treats included were chocolate brownies, caramel slices, spinach and feta pastries, scones with jam and cream and sausage rolls, just to name a few.

This activity was a great way for the girls to showcase their cooking skills, and to allow their classmates to experience one another’s cooking. The roles will be reversed later in the term when this week’s cooks become the guests.

Along with making the food, the girls also had to ensure the room resembled a high tea setting. The girls chose to decorate using red roses, a red table cloth and red napkins which created a sophisticated and exquisite environment for their guests to experience.

It was a wonderful morning full of smiling faces and full plates!
