Highlights of the 2023 JIGSSA Athletics Carnival

With changes around the corner for the JIGSSA Athletics carnivals, the final full-participation Athletics Carnival was held at the WA Athletics Stadium this week.

Our students fully embraced the spirited atmosphere and enthusiastically participated in a variety of team games, track races, and field events that included thrilling jumps and impressive throws.

Representing one’s school is a tremendous honour, and we are immensely proud of all our students for their enthusiastic participation, displaying true College spirit throughout the event.

We would like to extend our congratulations to the following students for their outstanding performances:

  • Billie Woods-Smith (Year 6) – Secured 1st place in the turbo javelin event.
  • Charli Langshaw (Year 6) – Impressed with a 3rd place finish in the discus event.
  • Millicent Grant (Year 6) – Secured 3rd place in the shot put event.
  • Madeline Zammit (Year 5) – A commendable 3rd place in the turbo javelin event.

The track athletes also did an amazing job contributing to our final placings on the day.

The day culminated with Year 5s finishing in third place and Year 6s securing a respectable fourth place. The students demonstrated not only their athletic abilities but also their dedication and teamwork.

We look forward to the exciting changes on the horizon for the JIGSSA Athletics Carnivals and the continued enthusiasm and excellence of our students in future events.
