House Spirit Was Alive & Splashing! 2025 Swimming Carnivals

There was sunshine, colour, cheering, and a lot of splashing. That can only mean one thing… the Interhouse Swimming Carnivals were back!
Our girls showed up with all the House pride we’ve come to love. Years 7 -12 took on the High-Performance Centre (HPC) on 17 February, while Years 5 & 6 brought the energy to the Santa Maria College pool on 21 March. Two huge days, one vibrant community.
A Buzz from the First Splash
The moment students arrived; the atmosphere was electric. House shirts on, faces painted, chants ready to go. From swimmers to sideline supporters, every girl played a part in making it a day to remember.
There were personal bests, first-time swimmers, and lots of proud moments. What stood out most? The way our girls lifted each other up.
Years 5 & 6 – Little Swimmers, Big Hearts
At the College pool, our youngest students showed just how bold and brave they can be. From freestyle to fun relays, they gave everything a go with big smiles and even bigger support for their classmates.
It was the first major school event for many, and they embraced it with confidence and joy.

Years 7–12 – Speed, Support & Serious Volume
Over at the HPC, the senior students took things up a notch. The races were close, the relays intense, and the cheering. Absolutely next level.
Girls stepped up, pushing limits in the pool, showing leadership, and supporting their peers at every turn. It was Santa Maria spirit at its best.

The swimming carnivals remind us why we love being part of this College. It’s not just about who wins, it’s about courage, connection, and celebrating each other’s efforts. A huge thank you to everyone who swam, helped, cheered or led on the day. You made it unforgettable.
