IGSSA Athletics 2025 – A Day of Spirit, Strength & Support
Our athletes took to the track and field at HPC Stadium for the 2025 IGSSA Athletics Carnival yesterday, and what a day it was! The energy, the nerves, the cheers… it all came together in a celebration of resilience, leadership and spirit.
The Work Behind the Glory
What we saw on the track yesterday was only part of the story. Our girls have been putting in the hours for weeks, early mornings, after-school sessions, and plenty of hard work in between. Their commitment showed in every sprint, throw and jump.
Leadership & Sportsmanship Everywhere
One of the best parts of the day? Watching our students lift each other up. Seniors encouraged the younger girls, teammates rallied behind one another, and the sidelines were full of cheers. Even in the toughest moments, there was always someone offering encouragement. That is what real leadership and sportsmanship look like.
A Sea of Red, Green & White
The Santa Maria spirit was impossible to miss. From the track to the stands, our students created an atmosphere of pride and belonging. The cheers carried across the stadium, reminding everyone that being part of Santa Maria means standing together, no matter the result.
The Overall Result
We are proud to share that Santa Maria finished 5th overall, a fantastic achievement in such a competitive field. But beyond the final tally, it was the personal bests, the resilience, and the effort that really mattered. Yesterday proved that success is not just about medals, it is about courage, commitment, and heart.
