Interhouse Athletics Carnival 2025 – Sun, Spirit & So Much Fun
Sunshine, spirit and some serious sporting talent created an exciting Interhouse Athletics Carnival.
From the first starting race at HPC Stadium, there was an undeniable buzz. The stands were alive with colour as students cheered on their Houses, and the track was filled with flying feet, powerful throws, and joyful high-fives.
Competition & Camaraderie
In the lead-up to the main event, our students gave it their all in the pre-carnival long jump, high jump and 1500m events, collecting valuable points and building momentum for the big day.
Whether on the track or in the cheer squad, everyone played a part. The spirit of collaboration and friendly rivalry was clear; each event was a testament to the unity and energy that make our College community so special.
Celebrating Every Effort
While the senior students shone, it was our younger athletes who gave us an exciting peek into what lies ahead. Three Year 5 students broke the 400m record, an incredible achievement that shows the future of athletics at Santa Maria is in very good hands.
What stood out most was the encouragement. Students cheered each other on, celebrated every PB and congratulated competitors.

With the scoreboard neck and neck all day, every point truly counted. Well done to everyone for their incredible effort and determination.
