Interhouse Theatresports Competition

Quick thinking, witty sayings and acting on impulse – that’s the summary of the Interhouse Drama Competition. All of the performers participated in workshops to learn how to improvise and to fine tune their skills. The workshops were run by Libby Klysz who taught everyone the art of reacting spontaneously, accepting offers and how to move our stories forward. The workshops culminated in two performances this week. On Tuesday the Year 7 and 8 students battled it out to see who would be superior improvisers, resulting in a tie between Byrne and de la Hoyde. On Wednesday the Years  9, 10 and 11.5 students battled it out with Dillon taking the title. The competition was fun and fierce with a great deal of creativity, laughs and rivalry. A massive thank-you to Libby for hosting the night, the guest judges and of course the Drama and Dance Department. At the next College assembly, we will find out the overall winner, with the results of both competitions going towards the coveted McAuley Sheild. We can’t wait!
