What is your vision as Head Girl for 2026

As Head Girl for 2026, I envision a school community where strong relationships and trust are built. I strive for feelings of acceptance, respect, and appreciation to be felt by each Santa girl, building on the inclusivity and positivity of our school, ensuring it is one where all students feel acknowledged and valued. I hope to make a difference through initiatives that foster unity and build strong friendships and connections within year groups, between year groups, as well as between boarders and day girls. I strive to set the standard for care, kindness and inclusion. I hope that when students graduate, they carry with them strong friendships and connections.

Additionally, my vision is to be an advocate for student voice. I hope to make a difference by being approachable and available to all students’ concerns or ideas, proactively advocating for student-led ideas and initiatives and collaborating with the Student Leadership Council and staff to ensure student voice is heard and acted upon. I hope to leave this role having made a positive change in important areas for the better.

I also hope to connect with girls across the College, by getting to know them, sharing in their experiences, and creating spaces where everyone feels comfortable to be themselves.

Which of the Mercy values do you connect with most, and why?

I believe I connect mostly with compassion. I strive to be a leader of empathy, care and kindness. I aim to be someone all students can trust and confide in for support and guidance, a friendly face they can come to, whether they have questions, ideas or just want a chat. In all that I do for the College, I aim to create a warm, positive, interconnected and inclusive environment.

I am a good listener and communicator, striving to offer support and patience to those facing challenges and checking in on those around me. I hope to inspire others to always do their best in everything they pursue and support them on this.

What do you want students across all year levels to feel or experience under your leadership next year?

I aim to be someone all students can trust and confide in for support and guidance, a friendly face they can come to whether they have questions, ideas or just want a chat. I will strive to create an environment where all students feel acknowledged, appreciated and valued by working to build on the interconnectedness and inclusivity of our college.

Under my leadership, I hope all students will feel a genuine sense of belonging, a part of a supportive community where everyone feels loved and valued. I hope to create new opportunities for diverse experiences at the College in areas such as sports, service, and social activities.

What qualities do you admire in a great leader, and how do you hope to bring those into your role?

Diligence: when balancing multiple responsibilities, I hope to bring consistent hard work, dedication and commitment to this role. Staying organised, collaborating effectively with others and the ability to focus and prepare carefully are essential for a good work ethic.

Courage: I hope to bring courage to my role as Head Girl, by not being afraid to try. I want to give everything a go.

Empathy & Kindness: I hope to truly understand others’ experiences and emotions, in order to connect with others on a deeper level. I strive to lead with kindness, patience and a willingness to understand others.

Approachable:  I aim to be someone all students can trust and confide in for support and guidance, a friendly face they can come to whether they have questions, ideas or just want a chat.

What’s your favourite subject or co-curricular activity?

Politics & Law is my favourite subject. I enjoy learning about real-world events and issues and engaging in discussions with my class. I also get the opportunity to participate in Mock Trials through this subject, which is a great way to get out of my comfort zone and work effectively within a team, while having lots of fun.

IGSSA Athletics and Cross Country are my favourite co-curricular activities. I love running as a sport, but IGSSA is a great way to build connections with girls across year groups. I enjoy cheering on and running for Santa Maria and seeing how much some of the girls improve across the season. IGSSA sports are great opportunities to have some fun, too!

What do you like to do in your downtime to relax?

I enjoy spending time with friends and family – going for walks, going to the beach and having meals together. I also like to have some downtime alone, such as listening to music, watching movies or reading.

Chloe’s vision for 2026 reflects everything we value at Santa Maria College, compassion, connection and courage. Her focus on inclusivity and student voice shows great maturity and a genuine desire to make a difference. With her calm confidence and commitment to kindness, Chloe is sure to inspire those around her and continue strengthening our vibrant College community.

We look forward to seeing Chloe lead with heart, enthusiasm and purpose in the year ahead.
