Lattitude Goes Global
Lattitude Global Volunteering is the original, and largest gap year placement company in the southern hemisphere. This morning they came to talk with our Years 10 – 12 students. Twenty students enjoyed a complimentary breakfast while listening to a presentation about taking a Gap Year.
Old Girl, Lucy Simons (2015), is a Lattitude ambassador and spoke passionately about her Gap Year to Canada and the advantages of taking a break after Year 12, before commencing further study. Her adventures were amazing and the slide show of her time away showed experiences she could never have had at home. She made many new friends, challenged herself to be ‘out of her comfort zone’ and threw herself into all opportunities this exchange gave her.
Lucy is now in her second year of nursing at Notre Dame University and feels that the Lattitude experience has given her confidence to tackle any challenge head on.
Lattitude has supported thousands of young people on worthwhile and challenging placements over the 40 years that they have been in operation.
Many students asked questions about the locations that Lattitude can source, the costs and the length of time of these placements. With both universities and TAFEs having mid-year entry points, this may be an opportunity that students follow up on. Please contact Lattitude at www.lattitude.org.au
