Launching into Learning: Seek7 and Explore8

There is no napping at Santa Maria College. Term 2 is all go! This week we have launched not one but two of our Enhanced Learning Programs.

The Year 7 students were introduced to Seek7 while the Year 8s learnt about Explore8. Both are programs that take the girls off the regular timetable to work on big ideas.

At Santa Maria College we believe all students can, and should, be challenged. All students should have access to innovative programs that go beyond the curriculum and, connect learning to life. That is why we developed our Enhanced Learning Program.

The Enhanced Learning Program is a suite of carefully crafted, challenging learning experiences that are scoped and sequenced across Years 5 -10. Each one adds to a student’s skill set as well as their understanding of the world beyond the school walls.

Each year, every student participates in a learning experience that is designed to highlight a particular set of skills. Those skills link back to our Connecting Learning to Life (CL2L) key attributes.

Over the coming weeks, you will see a number of articles about the Years 7 and 8 programs as they unfold. In the meantime, Deputy Principal – Teaching and Learning, Simone Sawiris explains the Enhanced Learning Program in the video below.
