Making Memories at Father Daughter Camp
Here at Santa Maria College, we recognise that fathers or father figures play a significant role in the lives of young women. They can impact their wellbeing, growth, and journey through life.
Organised and run by our Men of Santa committee, the Years 5 & 6 Father-Daughter Camp provides an excellent opportunity for our students to spend quality time with their fathers, father figures, and peers in a fun and relaxed environment!
The two-day event, held at Woodman Point Recreation Camp in Coogee last weekend, was jam-packed with various activities. From rafting, swimming, rock climbing, and archery to flying foxes, treasure hunts, and t-shirt painting, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
With over 170 dads and daughters in attendance, this made for some great dinner table conversations. Not to mention, the beautiful 30°C weather across Saturday and Sunday, set the scene perfectly for the outdoor components of the camp.
Here is what a couple of our fathers who attended had to say:Â
It was a fantastic weekend, and I also made some new friends. Well done to the organisers for doing an excellent job. Jith Joseph
It was an awesome weekend. Thank you to the organisers. James Sandlands
This is an awesome weekend. Quality time spent with daughters and dads! Well done to the Mozzies for organising! Michael Shanahan
Thanks to Johanne Pretorius, Trevor Noske, Dave De Rossi, Chris Golding, and Hayden Bairstow for coordinating such a brilliant camp for the Years 5 & 6 dads and daughters to participate in.
Judging by the photos and feedback, we can all agree that everyone certainly enjoyed themselves!Â
